These are images of the literacy mat that I have created today. I want to help my students consider the language that they are using when they write, particularly in examination questions when they are trying to communicate with another adult about science.
This is my first attempt and I imagine that I will have to refine what I have produced and how I use it a lot to make the perfect environment for my students to increase their written communication in science.
I am so pleased that over the summer @maryuyseg talked about using 3D models. It has inspired today’s lesson. These are by year 6 showing how the body attacks pathogens/germs. I really like how the antigens are so clearly visible on the pathogen in the models.
